As a part of a comprehensive strategy throughout the Houston region, Methodist embarked on the development of new free-standing emergency care centers. The first free-standing center is being built in Pearland, a small town on the south side of the Houston metropolitan area. The project includes approximately 10,000 sf with 10 exam rooms, a CT scanner, and a digital radiography room. The facility includes Methodist-branding design features, such as a gabled entry atrium and the use of warm inviting materials to promote a positive patient experience. Parking is provided conveniently near the front door along with a covered drop-off to ensure easy access for patients within an emergency situation. This project is the first of several that will be placed around the Houston area and adapted to each community they serve.
